On July 3 (local time), the foundation stone laying ceremony for Morocco CIJAN Vehicle Suspension Company was held in the Tangier Tech City Free Trade Zone. The ceremony was presided over by Yang Weixia, Vice President of CIJAN Group. Chairman Zhao Zhijun attended alongside guests from the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), Tangier Tech City, Renault Group, China Road & Bridge Tangier Company, and Bank of Africa, witnessing this historic moment.

Tangier: A Core Hub of the North African Auto Industry
Located at the northwest tip of Africa on the Strait of Gibraltar, Tangier is a strategic link between Europe and Africa. Jointly developed by China and Morocco, the Tangier Tech City Free Trade Zone is hailed as a model of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries. The Tangier Mediterranean economic zone posted USD 18.8 billion in industrial output in 2025 — USD 12.5 billion from automotive — the backbone of Morocco's export-oriented manufacturing. Nearly 200 Chinese companies have set up operations there, spanning automotive and new-energy materials. CIJAN's choice of Tangier reflects the city's unique location and industrial cluster effect.

Deepening Presence in North Africa, Expanding into Europe, and Strengthening Global Capacity Layout
The Morocco plant is a strategic step in CIJAN's global footprint. Once operational, it will enable localized production of high-end suspension products, significantly shortening delivery times for European customers and better responding to customer needs in delivery timing and localized support. "Morocco offers a favorable business environment and a mature industrial ecosystem. The new plant will create local jobs and deepen China-Morocco industrial cooperation for mutual benefit," said Yang Weixia at the ceremony.

From Global R&D to Global Manufacturing : Strengthening the Foundation for Growth
The Morocco plant marks CIJAN's globalization strategy advancing from "R&D going global" to "manufacturing going global." On the R&D side, CIJAN operates a global network of five centers across two countries — Xichuan, Nanyang, and Shanghai in China, plus Turin and Asti in Italy — bringing together global suspension experts and staying at the forefront of global suspension development. Collaborative innovation across this network has produced a full intelligent suspension portfolio: ADS (Adaptive Damping System), ECAS (Electronically Controlled Air Suspension), and FAS (Full Active Suspension).

On the manufacturing side, CIJAN has built multiple intelligent assembly lines, completing the leap from traditional to smart manufacturing. In 2025, several new lines came onstream, delivering a major capacity boost. Together with smart-manufacturing partners, CIJAN also built China's first integrated dual-valve + single-valve ADS shock absorber line — with every element, from line design and mechanical development to control systems, vision inspection, and data traceability, developed in-house.
Strong Foundations, Promising Future
From Xichuan, China to Tangier, Morocco, CIJAN is advancing steadily toward globalization. The Morocco plant is both a milestone in that journey and a vivid example of China-Morocco automotive cooperation reaching new heights. Going forward, CIJAN will take root in Morocco, serve the European market, and build a benchmark intelligent, high-quality automotive parts plant — steadily advancing toward its vision: "Wherever there is a car, there is CIJAN."
